About Oasis Scholarship.
This Oasis Scholarship scheme intends to support the meritorious students. So it provides financial support to the SC/ST/OBC students studying in Post Matriculation or Post Secondary level. The Scheme encourages them to carry on their education. So this scheme gives the following scholarship. This scheme also gives scholarship to the students studying in class IX &X. This scheme wants to eradicate drop-out from schools. So This scheme also gives scholarship to the students studying in class IX & X. The West Bengal Government provides this Oasis Scholarship 2020 to the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC students of West Bengal. Providing authority is The Backward Classes Welfare Department of West Bengal.
Scholarships given under the Scheme:
This scheme provides
- Post – Matric Scholarship to SC/ST students.
- Post – Matric Scholarship to OBC students.
- Pre – Matric Scholarship to SC students.
- Pre – Matric Scholarship to ST students.
Eligibility for this Oasis Scholarship:
For Post – Matric Scholarship (SC/ST)
- Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- Annual Family Income must not exceed Rs.2,50,000 p.a.
- The applicant must study in post – matriculation or Post Secondary level in any recognised institution. (i.e. candidates studying in XI, XII, ITI, Polytechnic, Medical, Engineering, Under Graduate, Post Graduate, M. Phil, P.hD, LLB, B. Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, Hotel Management are eligible for this scholarship.)
For Post – Matric Scholarship (OBC)
- Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- The applicant must belong to Other Backward Classes (OBC) category
- Annual Family Income must not exceed Rs.1,00,000 p.a.
- The applicant must study in post – matriculation or Post Secondary level in any recognised institution. (i.e. candidates studying in XI, XII, ITI, Polytechnic, Medical, Engineering, Under Graduate, Post Graduate, M. Phil, P.hD, LLB, B. Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, Hotel Management are eligible for this scholarship.)
For Pre – Matric Scholarship (SC/ST)
- Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- Annual Family Income must not exceed Rs.2,50,000
- The applicant must study in classes IX and X in any recognised institution.
- The candidates who are studying in class IX or X are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Rates:
Pre-Matric (SC/ST):
Candidates of Class IX and X (Day Scholar) will get Rs. 150/- per month and Candidates of Class IX and X (Hosteller) will get Rs. 750/- per month.

Post-Matric:
Post Matric (Engineer or Medical or L L M or M Phil or PhD or B. Sc (agriculture) hosteller candidates will get Rs. 1200/- per month and Day Scholar candidates will get Rs. 550/- per month.
Post matric (B. Sc Nursing or B Pharm or Post Graduate or Hotel Management) Hosteller students will get Rs. 820 per month and Day scholar candidates will get Rs 530 per month.
The Hosteller candidates who are studying undergraduate (honours) will get Rs. 750 this colas candidates will get Rs. 300 per month.
Post-Matric Diploma Students:
Post Matric Diploma students (Hosteller) of polytechnics or class 11 or 12 or ITI will receive Rs. 750/- per month and (Dayscholar) students will get Rs. 230 per month.

Application Process for Oasis Scholarship :
Step by step –
For Registration :
1. First visit the Official website.
2. Then click on the “Students Registration” button in “Students Corner” option.
3. Next make a choice for the district of your school. Students studying outside West Bengal choose their permanent address.
4. Then fill up the online registration form and click on the “Submit” button.
5. Then download the computer generated acknowledgement slip for future reference. You will get User ID and Password. Keep them carefully.
Now for Login,
6. Then go to the official website
7. Then click on “Registered Students Login” button.
8. Now login with your User ID, password. Select your district.
9. Then click on “Further Details”.
10. Click on “Bank Information”.
11. Then fill up the Bank Account details carefully and save it.
12. Now click on “Verify and Lock” button.
13. Then click on “Print Application” and take a print out of the Application Form. Submit the filled-in Application Form to the concerned Block or Municipality as instructed in the last page of Application Form after certified the same from different authority as mentioned in the Application Form.
What to do if you forget your Password ?
Therefore follow the steps to get your Password :
1. Visit Login Page.
2. Then click on “Click here to know your username and password” button.
3. Then fill in the details.
4. Click on “Generate Acknowledgement” button to retrieve your username and password.
Important Dates:
Online Application started from 1st Week of June.
The last date is up to last week of September. Renewal application will continue up to 2nd week of November.
